When The Lady In Red joined the Sheffield Household and saved everyone through simply being herself!
I personally love this episode! I love how small the kids were, especially right after seeing the end, I love how C.C. said "What's that?", and Maxwell answered "That's... the Nanny." And I love how Niles said "Yes, sir. Just what you needed." and "No, sir. Not the sandwich."
I actually like the way the house looks in the first episode and it was still in a similar style throughout the first few seasons. And to be honest, I actually prefer the atmosphere of the earlier episodes over the later ones, even though I do love all of them. It was a bit more... intimate and overall close-knit.
The pilot is definitely among my most favourite episodes.

I agree it's a really good pilot and a good episode. I also prefer the earlier seasons over the last three eventho there is no episode that doesn't have at least one scene I like. I'm not the biggest Fran/Max fan so I usually enjoy episodes that focus less on their relationship more. I also like the charakters more at the beginning of the show. In the later seasons they sometimes seemed to pathetic and stupid and everyone was constantly complaining about their live. In the earlier seasons they were kind of over the top carakters too, but everyone seemed to actually be good at there job.

I'm not much of a Fran/Max either. I am happy it ended that way, because Fran got what she wanted, the children got Fran as her mother (finally, when they were adults and everyone was happy. But personally, if I was Fran, I would have never, ever married Max. He just never treated her well enough.
I absolutely agree! There is not one episode I dislike, but I don't like all of them equally well and the first seasons, before the whole romance starte when the children were still small and when everything was a bit warmer and friendlier, are my absolute favourites. I thoroughly enjoy the later ones, but those tend to be less interesting to me. Then again, I am right now watching the sixth season on Disney Channel (Fran get's pregnant tonight!) and I still love it as much as always. Then again, I really can't wait for the finale - and the immediate return of the Lady in Red, an especially sassy and less complaining Niles and three small children.

I disagree...sort of at least. My favourite seasons are 4 and 6 but that's primarily because of the N/CC moments they have. I love 1-3 a lot too but most of my shipping happens later. I hate how cartoon-like C.C. became in Season 5... But I do like the pilot a lot. Niles is spot on already.

Niles is definitely spot on ;D I often watch early episodes of series and find myself thinking "wow, that character changed a lot" (in the sense they got more contures, etc. not a change of personality) while Niles was perfectly Niles from the very first seconds. Yes,f or shipping, the later seasons are way better ;D And I do love them, too. Especially the scenes with Niles and C.C. Then again, I think there is a romantic tension form the very beginning on. Except that in the very first episode, it seemed to be implied that there was a kind of almost-relationship between Niles and C.C., at least fromw hat Niles and the kids thought, which didn't last any longer than twenty fives minutes, apparently ;D I do love when everything finds its way in the last seasons, especially how Fran gets happy and how Niles and C.C. finally realize they truly belong together. However, the end, when they leave the Sheffield House always breakes my heart, especially the last scene with Fran and Yetta. And then the first episodes makes me feel good again. Perhaps that's why I love it so much. I love many - especially old - different tv shows, but always watching the same episodes often makes me tired and I have to stop watching for a while. I could watch my least favourite Nanny episode three times a day and seven days a week and I wouldn't feel bored for five minutes. Then again, I have no idea what my least favourite Nanny episode would be... o.O
